It seems to want to portray a view of the "gig" economy and those who work in it as victims and this somehow is the Governments fault! It is simply badly acted and portrays a picture of life that is simply beyond sense I think there is a "kings new clothes" approach to some directors, the same mentality that thinks a pile of bricks is worth 1m.
If you want to get depressed and be manipulated then by all means go and watch this tripe. It's not a patch on "I Daniel Blake" which had good acting and a real social story to tell.

Pasamos por canton. Passámos par carte virtuelle. Very moving story and epitomises society today. The only thing that let this film down, for me, was exceptionally poor acting from a few of the "actors. I guess the director wanted a realistic feel to the story, using some inexperienced actors, but it detracted from the overall story in my opinion. Pasamos por carmen. A movie that rubs not only salt into the wounds of the working class poor, but urine (see the movie. This is the 21st century and the wealth gap between the rich and the poor is increasing. It's really wrong, but I don't see many of our politicians dealing with this issue. Great movie, but uncomfortable to watch.

Paul Laverty nails it down so nicely... Excellent interview... No words for the film. possibly one of the best again from Ken Loach... This man is a legend... Pass c3 a1mos por c c3 a1 auto. Well those on benefits cant really afford anything else to fail them now and we certainly cant have some new back door policy brought in like the bedroom tax which took away money that people had previously lived to as it was within their means. to those who say well just cut down you do realise how little you get a week on average about 72. You cant cut down. Its already to the bone. Any more further policies or changes this government bring in that takes away even more money from claimants will I foresee send people over the edge. Are we still in austerity in 2018 ? The recession was 2008 ! 10 years ago. Weve got money for overseas or random projects yet we cant afford to support those in welfare? Its a bloody disgrace. Apart from the recent world cup when it felt good to support England I hate to call myself British now I am not proud of what our country has become. a nation ruled by overpaid underworked penny pincher MPs. Time to take a stand.

[3] [4] Principal photography began in September 2018 in the Newcastle area in north-east England. [5] [3] [4] It was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. [6] Despite having a broken arm in a sling, Loach appeared to promote the film at Cannes, where he said that it would be his final film to compete at the festival. [7] At the 10th Magritte Awards, Sorry We Missed You received the Magritte Award for Best Foreign Film in Coproduction. [8] Plot [ edit] Ricky (Kris Hitchen) and his family have been fighting an uphill struggle against debt since the 2008 financial crash. Ricky, who has no education or professional training, is given an opportunity when he is hired to run a franchise as a self-employed delivery driver under the supervision of the tough Maloney. In order to afford a van for the job, Ricky convinces his wife Abbie (who uses the car in her work as a home care nurse) to sell the family car. The stress of the new job proves too be great for Ricky. He is always under pressure to make his deliveries in time and is fined if he is late or makes mistakes. Abbie also finds her work much more demanding without a car and frequently feels upset by the lack of time she is allowed to spend with her patients due to her demanding schedule. The stress of both Ricky and Abbie is greatly increased by their son Seb (Rhys Stone) who both skips school and often gets into trouble with graffiti. After an argument, Seb tags over the family portraits during the night. The next morning Ricky can't find the keys to his van and blames Seb. Seb denies any wrongdoing and in the ensuing argument, Ricky hits Seb. His daughter Liza Jane (Katie Proctor) later tearfully admits that she hid the keys as she blames Ricky's new job for the family's problems. Back at work, Ricky is robbed and brutally assaulted while making his deliveries. While Ricky is in the waiting room at hospital, Maloney phones him and explains that he is facing fines of over £1, 000 as his scanner was destroyed during the robbery. After the assault, Seb finally warms up and re-joins the family. The film ends as Ricky drives off to work, still greatly injured and in tears as his family beg him to not leave. Cast [ edit] Kris Hitchen as Ricky Turner Debbie Honeywood as Abbie Turner Rhys Stone as Seb Turner Katie Proctor as Liza Jane Turner Ross Brewster as Maloney Charlie Richmond as Henry Julian Ions as Freddie Sheila Dunkerley as Rosie Maxie Peters as Robert Christopher John Slater as Ben Heather Wood as Mollie Alberto Dumba as Harpoon Natalia Stonebanks as Roz Jordan Collard as Dodge Dave Turner as Magpie Stephen Clegg as Policeman Darren Jones as Council worker Nikki Marshall as Traffic warden Linda E Greenwood as Driver Linda Wright as A&E receptionist Reception [ edit] On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 87% based on 117 reviews, with an average rating of 7. 61/10. The site's critical consensus reads " Sorry We Missed You may strike some as tending toward the righteously didactic, but director Ken Loach's passionate approach remains effective. " [9] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 83 out of 100, based on 26 critics, indicating "universal acclaim". [10] David Rooney in The Hollywood Reporter wrote that the film "is an expertly judged and profoundly humane movie, made without frills or fuss but startlingly direct in its emotional depiction of the tough stuff that is the fiber of so many ordinary lives. " [11] Peter Bradshaw in The Guardian believed it was superior to Loach's previous film I, Daniel Blake (2016), which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes. [12] [13] Bradshaw wrote: "it is more dramatically varied and digested, with more light and shade in its narrative progress and more for the cast to do collectively. I was hit in the solar plexus by this movie, wiped out by the simple honesty and integrity of the performances. " [12] The review in The Times praised the performance of newcomer Debbie Honeywood as Abbie, who was cast after a talent search of non-professionals. Contributor Kevin Maher believed the film should have concentrated on her character instead of Ricky, Abbie's husband. [14] Geoffrey Macnab wrote in The Independent that Loach's film "captures brilliantly the alienation and existential anguish that its main characters feel. There is nothing they can do to help themselves. The more they fight to change their circumstances, the worse those circumstances become. " [15] Macnab commented that Loach and his screenwriter Laverty "pursue their story to its logical conclusion, ending the film in a way that is both ingenious and devastating. " [15] Owen Gleiberman of Variety writes: "Loach stages all of this with supreme confidence and flow" leading to "a fraught, touching, and galvanizing movie. " [13] Raphael Abrahams, in his review for the Financial Times, states: "In the end credits he [Loach] gives thanks to those drivers whose testimony informed the film but who wished to remain anonymous. He is their much-needed voice and remains that of our moral conscience. " [16] Trevor Johnston of British film publication Sight & Sound wrote "While Sorry We Missed You may not be as sentimentally affecting as [ I, Daniel Blake], it delivers a more nuanced, troubling and provocative state-of-the-nation address. As such, it’s surely among Loach and Laverty’s most sinewy efforts. " [17] References [ edit] ^ "Sorry We Missed You". Box Office Mojo. IMDb. Retrieved 13 March 2020. ^ "Sorry We Missed You". PassÃmos Por ça se passe. "Sorry We Missed You" is an exceptional film from British director Ken Loach that I recently saw at the Philadelphia Film Festival. It's amazingly realistic and powerful. as well as incredibly sad and depressing. This is NOT a just to let you know that it's anything but a 'feel good' sort of movie.
The story is about a working class family in crisis. The father worked 90 hour weeks as a delivery man. His boss is completely unsympathetic and a rock. The wife is also working 12-14 hour days and together they barely get by. But, because they are barely home, it's taking a huge emotional and physical toll on them as well as the family. Through the course of the film, you see these decent people fall apart. and there doesn't seem to be any answer for their predicament.
This movie was brilliant in that the actors seemed nothing like conventional actors. they were REAL. But, unlike non-professional actors, they were convincing and extremely effective. I applaud them and Loach for delivering a film that makes you think and feel. and challenges your preconceptions about the fairness and decency in the modern economy. A film not to be you are depressed. If you do suffer from clinical depression or your life has been hard lately. maybe you might want to skip this one.

I used to do that job. I quit after 5 months because it was like working for Satan. PassÃmos Por ça fait. If this is an accurate portrayal of the employees of the benefits offices It seems they scrape the bottom of sewers to find the staff. This is about when 'liberty' is well framed slavery, consciously pushing a logic that indeed creates injustice, fear and dictatorship. This will get way worse, now that the Brexit bunch have England all for themselves and misuse their 'slaves' as they like. Visionstream. PassÃmos Por ça marche. Millionaire Filmmaker exploiting the myth of 'us and them. There is money to be made being an Amazon driver yes its hard but you can make a half decent few quid. So Loach using artistic licence yet again.

Passámos par. So articulated. skills. Pasamos por carlos. In Canada I had to complain because they weren't delivering my parcels. Turns out canada post had sub contracted the work out and I had to complain because as a disabled person it's more then inconvenient to have to travel for items I had shipped to me so I didn't have to travel for them. Knowing that I was always home. They took it very seriously and I have not had a problem since but yeah the times on the forms were all wrong. What bothered me more is that they can leave the parcel if I'm not answering the door fast enough. So now unless it needs signature they leave the parcel. and always knock.

Passámos par carte. Poor Mark tries so hard to relate to working class Britain in films, but. lol. Eagle couriers nearly killed me doing this sort of stuff and so close to divorce. all good now on my own doing good. We are witnessing the extinction of civilization and the human race. It is unstoppable. I got one of these yesterday when I wasn’t home to receive my package. It says it’s available for pickup after the 4th at 8:00. The 4th is a Saturday and the post office is closed and also Sunday. What happens if I try and get the package earlier than what it says? Why would it not say today instead? I like how Trump is here cause he plays on our fears and how Trump is presented to the general public : as the great danger to the world. Cause of course, presenting him this way isn't in any way or form playing with people's fears. Do these people even know the definition for hypocrisy.

Look forward to the American trailer. He was a man on the EDGE. Now he must take up a zero-hour contract to save his family... Pasamos por camino. Passámos par casimages. PassÃmos Por ça va. One of the best movies 2019 but I know it wont get its recognition. Pasamos por alto. Good to see The Economist standing up for the working. PassÃmos Por ca www. Pasamos por casa. Pass c3 a1mos por c c3 a1 stock. LOVE LOVE LOVE Ken Loach films. Reality. As a postman myself I will say its a 2 way street, I use the same knock every house I go to and some houses I'll have people complain that I was knocking so loud they thought I was trying to kick the door in and others don't even notice you. I had one last week where I banged on the door a few times and got no answer and when I walked across the front of the house to find somewhere to leave it I saw a lady sat watching TV in the front room. I was banging on the window maybe 2 metres away from the back of her head and she was completely oblivious, I couldn't believe it. I reckon I could have smashed the window climbed through and dropped the parcel on her lap and she wouldn't have noticed. I'm not making excuses for your postie or blaming OP but until I started this job I had no idea just how unaware some people could be about people knocking on the door/moving around outside their house and I really go for it when I knock because I can't be bothered standing there for 5 minutes writing out the card, I'd much rather just hand over the parcel and be on my way.

Sanctions steal from a person money that is from national insurance and according to the government is an entitlement. How do they get to reduce a human being to living almost like an animal begging for scraps just to survive? Why do humans treat each other in this way and reduce others to a near animal existence begging for scraps? This disgusting lack of any empathy and moral depravity is astounding.

Tories out. Privatizing poverty. Pasamos por cancion. It´s more than that. It´s a global cry of revenge against those who tried to turn Britain into a concentration camp system that killed over 10 million British people by forcing them to be treated as ´fit to work´when the job market had no job for them and they were in no position to do so.
